HARTSVILLE, S.C., Oct 05, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Talley Metals, a subsidiary of Carpenter Technology Corporation (NYSE:CRS) announced that it is instituting an energy surcharge on all orders shipped after October 15, 2005. The surcharge, which only covers natural gas at this time, reflects dramatic increases in natural gas prices.
The surcharge amount will be published monthly on a per pound basis using the monthly settlement price of the NYMEX Natural Gas contract. A trigger price of $6.00 per MCF of natural gas and a multiplier will be used to determine the surcharge.
Talley Metals sells stainless steel long products, as well as standard precipitation-hardening grades, to U.S. metals distributors.
